Welcome

The NeuroFiles initiative is led by

Dr Rebecca Torrance Jenkins, a specialist

in educational neuroscience with a

passion for implementing change based

on knowledge.

We live in a world where innovation and creativity have the power to engage with a global audience more rapidly than history has ever experienced. And that’s precisely our intention. In a unique collaboration with the the inspirational Creative Life At The Monastery project, and young TV and Radio talent at The University Of Salford based at the iconic MediaCityUK, our programme is rich with content. We use consultancy and mentoring for schools, direct engagement with businesses, augmented reality digital media, TV, and innovative healthcare initiatives with an initial series of four videos on ‘Managing Stress’. You can find out more on these pages.
Understanding   what   happens   inside   our   brains   can   only   have   a   positive   impact   in   education,   healthcare and   the   way   we   work.   This   vision   is   shared   by   notable   scientists,   including   the   author   of   the   quote above, Professor Lord Robert Winston, who have agreed to advise the NeuroFiles education team.   Like all scientists, our belief in research that has been robustly peer reviewed is absolute, and we only use research findings that fulfil this criteria. But that is no reason to suppress ambition.

“By discovering how our minds work,

and unlock our true potential.”

Lord Robert Winston The NeuroFiles initiative is led by Dr Rebecca Torrance Jenkins, an educational neuroscientist with a passion for implementing change based on knowledge.  And an uncompromising disdain for societal structures based on populist whim. Rebecca believes that the potential for improvement in education, healthcare and the way we work can be better informed by understanding what happens inside our brains.  The vision is shared by notable scientists, clinicians and educationalists, including Professor Michael Thomas, Professor Paul Howard-Jones, Dr Iroise Dumontheil and the author of the quote above, Lord Robert Winston.  All have agreed to join the team. Like all scientists, our belief in research that has been robustly peer reviewed is absolute.  But that is no reason to suppress ambition.  We live in a world where innovation and creativity have the power to engage with a global audience more rapidly than history has ever experienced.  And that’s precisely our intention.
